decided to buy a ztr for residential use (and hoping it will last a long time), and i think i've decided on the exmark lazer ct in 18hp/48 inch deck configuration. i noticed that exmark recently changed from a twin cylinder kawasaki to the briggs vanguard in this model/platform. any experience with this particular engine, especially as far as performance, noise, reliability, and lifespan?

The dealer I bought the CT from said that Briggs has had this motor out for about 6 years. He said that it is a very reliable motor. In fact the dealer recommended it over the Kohler.

You will love the mower. I love cutting with it. I bought the striper and mulching kit with it. They both work real well. I love the mower. I had another ZTR before this and CT is head and shoulders better than my old ZTR.
