hey guys so im adding a second mower this spring. it needs to be a 52"-54" deck. im looking at the folowing mowers

    Exmark e series with 23hp kawi $7500
    Exmark S series with 27hp kawi $9500
Johndeere 920a 54" deck mulch on demand $8500
    Kubota ZD221 21hp kubota diesel $10,500
wright standard 19hp kawi and 52" deck $6700

    exmark e series

I currently have a exmark e series with 48" deck, its been a good mower so far, but it nas narrow tires and a low ground speed. The e series my dealer has a 52" deck and 23kawi for 7500. Im leaning away for this unit becuase its what i have and not much of an upgrade.

exmark s series would be a 2012 wich has a $1000 price increase from last year. There mower is nice but just dosnt seem to be build like the other brands.

Johndeere is one of my favorits, i like how the mower handes and love the idea of mulch on demand. The downside to it is my dealer is about 40min away.

Kubota is my second favorit. The dealer is about 2miles from my house. for 1k more i can have a diesl unit, is shaft driven and is built like a tank. I just havent seen many in use around my area and not sure how the cut or stripe.

The wright standard is a nice mower, seems to be built well. but im not sure how i feel about standing all day especialy on some of my larger property.

so guys help me pick! im lost!

I have the kubota with the 54 inch cut. Quality cut and the kubota is very well built. Another consideration is the Deisel will use about 1/3 of the fuel than the gas engines

I would look at jumping up to a z925a efi 54 mod deck. I have a z950 60 mod deck. It's a time saver. Mine mulches hood with out a trail if I follow the 1/3 rule.

I wonder what's up with the $1000 increase on the Exmark? Last time i checked on an advantage series which is the S series i beleive now they where $8000 for a 48" and $84 or $8500 for the 52". That's a big jump.
Anyhow i have a 2009 Exmark next lazer Advantage series and love it, when i go to buy another new one though i think i will go to the X series!

I vote for the jd 920 mod. The new 900 ztraks are great. I have the 930a with the comfort and convienence package, awesome! The cut is excellent, and i know the mod deck is handy to have as long as the grass isn't too wet. Hope this helps.

love kubota, we have the bigger units but they are all built the same, like tanks. it will be the longest lasting trouble free unit. i dont like JD, but the deck will cut better overall and in wet conditions than the kubota. otherwise, kubota all the way

You won't find a problem standing, even on larger properties. We mow ~5 acres every two weeks and it feels very comfortable. Almost relaxing.

true that, but depends. what if the operator has bad knees and no back issues? stander would be horrible. i myself prefer to stand as my back is bad. so, there is a need for both
