Xcopterdoc I just use my foot to shove the tensioner (between the deck and frame), Remove the belt and let the pressure off. Then remove the spring. The rope tricks sounds as if it will work great also. I have thought about making a spring puller from a 1/4" piece of Cold Rolled round stock about 14 to 16" long and a 1/2" piece of water pipe. Just sharpen the end of the round stock a little. Bend it around a 1/2" pipe. Cut the water pipe to make a handle about 4" long. Drill a 1/4" through the center and weld it up. Haven't gotten around to it yet. Locutus Thanks for reminding everyone to release the spring tension. I am one that forgets to advise people of such things for I am so use to doing it that I think everyone does it the same.
