So can the pump failing take out the Wheel Motor on the same side?

Sure...but not always...the wheelmotors are built tougher than the pumps..
Probably just a bad thrust or shaft bearing...not too tough...tons of info on this site...seal kit and a few parts...flush the wheelmotor..change the fluid and filter..

So was at the dealer when they opened. The owner was not there. Talked to the guy that I dealt with yesterday. Showed him the shavings. He took them to the mechanic. Mechanic said he must have missed them. He is adiment that the flow test results were good and there is nothing wrong with my machine. The shavings are normal wear and that is what the filter is for and he is not going to randomly replace parts. Your thoughts?

He is a MORON....tell him to go back to selling used cars...
What he is telling you is that they don't repair pumps...they only replace them.
There is a damaged bearing in the pump...not normal wear...Complete BS..
Metal shavings need to be adressed while it is still operaring properly..
    Call Exmark directly and complain...

Owner tried calling me a couple hours after I left, then we played phone tag for a while.

I finally got a hold of him. He said he heard what happened and wasn't happy how his counter guy handled the situation.

The owner stood behind his mechanic he said that he checked for shavings before doing a flow test and there weren't any.

Owner said he was going to try and get some "closure" from his guys and would call me back.... surprise surprise no call yet and I'm not holding my breath either.

Explain to the dealer that pics of the metal shavings are already posted on the web...along with a play by play of the whole debacle..
Letting him know that the only thing left out was the names of the dealership and the hack employees that stole your money..and..that may be subject to change...

My head is spinning from this whole ordeal. All I wanted from the dealer was for them to diagnose my problem. I told them when I dropped it off yesterday, you tell me whats wrong and I'll buy the parts and supplies needed for the repair from you guys and do the repair myself. Would have been an easy sale for them, pump, filter and hydro oil.

The mower is still workin..get your lawns done before Monday...
Isaac is gonna change a lot of plans...RNC in tampa should be interesting...
Doesn't take too much wind or water to flood the bayshore or downtown...

They should have at least replaced the hydro filter...
Get a new filter and 2 qts 15w50 mobil 1 and do it yourself...
Hang in there...6 more weeks till october...keep your chainsaw sharp...

Cut 14 lawns today with it no hiccups. Got 18 tomorrow. Looks like Monday and Tuesday will be a wash for sure maybe Wednesday. So I'll have first part of next week to repair the mower.

Thanks Piston you've been a huge help through all this.
