No Kohler. Wasn't real thrilled with my last 2. Got a 27hp Generac 50" cut.

Hope so to. How many hours until my first oil change, 10 or 5? Not at home to look in the manual.

So finally had some time yesterday to get back into it. I took all the low pressure lines off and inspected them, flushed out tank again, flushed wheel motor, installed other new high pressure hose (now both are new) and changed filter.

Put it all back together, bled system and ran it for about 15 minutes, felt great and sounded good. That was last night.

Went out this morning after starting tried to go in reverse and I got nothing same with forward. If I hold the stick forward it will eventually groan really loud then start to move.

Sure sounds like a lot of air in the system. Was there any more metal in the fluid or filter when you changed the fluid this time ? Did you run it on the jackstands or out on the yard yesterday ? Was there any foam in the tank this morning ? Is this happening to both sides at the same time ?

Your mower has some bad joo joo.

No metal. Ran it on jack stands for 30 minutes then out in the yard for 15 or so. No foam before I started it then after trying to get it to move I had some air bubbles. All problems are only on one side since the beginning.

You ran it long enough to purge any air from the system..It appears the pump is making its own air.
This happens when the rotor is not flush with the head or the pistons in the pump rotor are sticking.
I realize it is a new pump , but that's why new parts have a warranty. The pump may have been assembledon Friday afternoon ?
The pistons in the pump may be sticking when it sits , and free up once it gets running.

I'm going to round up another pump to try. I also will be replacing all the low pressure hoses as they are very stiff and brittle. eXmark wants over $10 for 7" of hose. What's so special about this hose? Could I use oil cooler hose? Need to figure out what size I need as well.
