exmark question

    i got a exmark lazer-z hp 52 deck 500 hrs on it the other day i had bolt to break on idle arm pulley that round housing were the bolt goes all the way under your deck bolt like maybe a 6 -inch bolt the housing also has a grease fitting on it . I put a new bolt in it it lasted about a week . i think housing and idle arm is all one piece . what could be my problem . i don't really know a lot about mechancial things thanks for your help.:usflag:

    sounds like you didnt grease it enough and the inside of the idler mount is rough and eating the bolts in two. you will probably have to get a new idler arm would be my guess.

    Maybe move up to hardened bolt?

    that might work too but if the inside is wore then the pulley will be at an angle compared to the belt and it will wear out the bearings in the pully.

    Use Grade 8 Steel ! OR replace the part with a OEM replacement in my opinion the mower is to young to be hacking repairs.
