Hi. First post to the site. I used search but couldn't find what I was looking for.

I have an Exmark Turf Ranger, 22HP Kohler engine, 60" deck. I tried to run it the other day and here's what happens:

Full choke is on and starts up fine. Drop choke and it dies. If I leave the choke half on it will idle. But the minute I drop it, it dies....every time.

That or it's not getting enough fuel, replace fuel filter.

Initially it appears to be fuel related.
    To do list :)
check fuel pipes are clear running
check fuel filter not partially blocked
If fitted, fuel tap working okay
After checking these then I'd got for a blocked main jet.
Drop carb' and clean jets and check fuel needle valve is flowing
When the carb is off check the block to carb' gasket.
    Good luck
