I visited a Toro/Exmark/Stihl dealership yesterday. This dealership is a bit out of the way, yet seems to have the best reputation within 200 miles or more.

The owner recommended the Exmark stand-on aerator vs the Toro.

I also noticed a recent thread regarding 30 inch stand-on aerators has been "closed". Don't know why?? Cuz we plan to purchase one or two of these units within weeks.
PM me if you want to know the "owner of this dealership" I spoke with.

Which stand-on aerator is best? Are there differences between Toro & Exmark?

Well if you visited a Exmark/Toro dealer in which case he would carry both products. Did he not tell you what the differences where?

Also why does he consider the Exmark better?

Maybe the Exmark has more room for a fanny pack?

Can you get one in pink?

I was at the Toro/Exmark dealership (Adel Power & Equipment) to inspect the property cuz we are subcontracted to treat their lawn. I stood in line for a couple minutes, but they had several phone lines going & folks were waiting in line. So I left -- no time for that.

I was backing out of their driveway, and the owner came out & stopped me. I'm sure he saw my company truck. I knew he was extremely busy, so we did not go into a discussion regarding the differences. I only asked him one question >> "Toro or Exmark"? He said Exmark. I will get back to him soon, cuz he was a really nice guy.

Today I stopped by http://www.mtidistributing.com I found out they are not a dealer & could not sell to professionals. They can only sell to dealerships. And they are only authorized to sell Toro -- not Exmark.
Said they might have demo units available in October.

So I'm back to "square one". Thought you guys would say there are differences in the two brands.

I prefer "green", but I will take any color. Thanks Mark. lol

Larry isn't Turfco coming out with one of those soon?
    I would wait for it.

So I'm guessing beings there has been no news from Turfco with only a few months before aeration time it's not happening this year. I would think they would be promoting it by now if it was going to be this fall. Just saying

Why wait for an imaginary aerator? Turfco makes fine equipment but my Exmark stand-on is one fine piece of equipment.

I asked an "Exmark/Toro/Stihl dealer" today some questions re: Toro/Exmark stand-on aerators.

    1) They are not quite exactly the same.
    2) They are not made on the same assembly line. Actually, the Exmarks are manufactured in Nebraska. Toro's are manufactured in Minnesota.
    3) Toro = distributor -- then dealer -- then buyer
Exmark = dealer -- then buyer (less hassle & overhead)
    4) Exmark dealers tend to consider Toro products slightly inferior in quality compared to Exmark products
    5) Most parts for Toro & Exmark stand-on aerators are interchangeable, but not all

Last year, Exmark stand-on aerators sold out last fall.
Exmark mowers are (and have been for years) the most widely used commercial mowers in my area. We seldom see Toro commercial mowers. This is another indication to me as to which brand to buy. (actually, I already committed to buy the Exmark)

If any of the above info is incorrect, please post. Thanks
