F-150 4x4 ..?

    Alright, I have a 91 F-150 4x4 it goes into 4H but won't shift into 4L floor mount shifter ..


    All info welcome..

    Try putting the trans in neutral, then try to put it in low. If that don't work, you may have other problems.

    Tried that also, need to make a repair shop visit..

    Will it go in low with the engine not running? Other than that I can't help ya.

    could be the shifter linkage...we had a 93 F250 that wouldn't go into either 4 lo or hi and it turned out the linkage bracket up near the t-case was all corroded and broken...get up under there and check her out

    Try and drive the truck slow and push the shifter in at the same time.

    If it hasn't been put into 4L very often (as it shouldn't have been) the linkage may be rusted/corroded/broken.
