On a '06 250 Powerstroke with the 6.0L can anyone tell me where, how and how often the water is drained? I have looked under the truck and where the fuel lines come forward to a unit that looks like the fuel pump in the frame rail by the drivers feet, there's a removable black cap on the rear of the pump, but I ain't unscrewing it without more info. I sure don't see any kind of petcock for an easy drain, what am I looking for?

I have an 04 with the 6.0, under the drivers side seat area along the frame rail find the fuel pump. On the right side when looking up at it there is a gold plug with a hex head fitting on it. Unscrew it and get ready, the fuel comes out hits the frame rail and goes everywhere. I drain mine every 5000 miles when I change the oil.

You'll need a 6mm hex driver, it's tight, so use some leverage, once it "cracks" loose, turn it slowly until the water runs out and you see clean fuel, tighten it up but only by hand, the plug is aluminum and it will strip the threads with any more than hand torque. There's an O-ring inside that takes care of sealing it, so no over torquing it.

Yup, one on the HFCM (inside the frame rails) and and another on the secondary filter in the engine compartment.

What about a 2000 F250 with 7.3? Does it have a place to bleed out water?

yes, on the fuel bowl there is a yellow valve. turn it. another thing you might wanna do is add on to the drain line. it dead-ends right at the bottom of the block, i added fuel line to the end of it so i can stick a water bottle or something of the sorts to catch it all and look at the fuel. if you have never done this before, chances are your drain valve will be blocked up. if thats the case, dont mess with it, these fuel bowls are horrible. thats why i got rid of mine.
