I am thinking about buying a 99 f-450 with a triton v 10 and a dump bed on it. My question is how many mpg can i expect to get with it and how much weight will it carry. And also is this a good truck, i plan on using it mainly for hauling garbage and concrete this winter and for some landscaping jobs next summer.

Mileage- 8 if you're lucky. Same rig with diesel would get around 12. Payload around 6-7000 pounds, depending on how heavy the truck body is.

The F-450s are good trucks I would get one with a 11' box or a 11' dumping flatdeck with a steel deck. A F-450 should easily handle 6000lbs can put 8000lbs on them in a pinch

As for mileage if you go with a 7.3 PSD with a 5spd you should get a honest 12mpg with empty truck. If you go with a V-10 you will get 8 mpg max unloaded it will drop down to 6mpg you won't beable to afford to drive the truck it will burn gallons of gas

I wouldn't hesitate on buying a F-450 you will realize how did we work before without 1.5 ton trucks.
