What can i expect from a 2003 f250 with the v8. Im looking a one that has 66,000 miles and is priced at 7,500.

    That's a good price.

MPG isnt' required by the EPA on 3/4HD and up (I think it's 8500lbs, truck and cargo). Since they are much more common then they used to be, It wouldn't suprise me if they don't start monitoring this soon.

    I would hazard a 12 - 16mpg guess withthe 5.4L Triton. It's a very good engine.

Just make sure the truck wasn't wrecked, rebuilt, etc. I reccommend CarFax as a starting point.

I dont think anything is weird about it. If you want you can look at www.jarrettfordavonpark.com and its under pre owned specials. But we talked to the guy and he said he would sell it for 7,550.

Probably a good thought. If you really don't need the F250, consider a lighter duty truck or even a smaller unit. I did plenty of lawn care in High School & college with a Toyota 2wd and never had any issues with it. Plus 24 mpg driving back & forth to school.

Now - it dosen't matter if this truck is at a Ford dealer or not, it still needs to be checked for it's background. If they refuse - walk out. They may be trying to hide something.

I just bought a 2006 F 250 4x4 with the 5.4 v8 and the general option axle (not the super low gear ratio) and i get 12 with or without trailer. Great truck but 10-12,000 pounds is all i will tow total and feel comfortable.

Seriously 12mph, everyone including dealers said 16 mpg but that was pure crap. The truck weighs in at over 6,000 pounds with the extended cab 4x4.
