How much weight can a F350 hold on the back flatbed part.
It is a dually, deisal, and 1989.
Look at the sticker on the door, should list gcwr and axel ratings
Look inside the door and read the GVW. In some states you can hual 20,000lbs per axle or 40,000lbs on that truck, wouldnt advise it tho. probably more in line with 6000lb actual carrying load on the back of the truck.
The big three have a horrible payload for their one ton trucks.GVW is prolly 11000 the truck prolly weighs 9500 so you can carry 1500lbs. Not very good.An Isuzu with a 14500 GVW weighs about 7500-8500lbs. That a 6000 or 7000lb payload. Thats why I run Isuzu's.
I would say your # are off somewhat, The truck weighs in around 6000-6500# leaving 4,500-5000# payload
6000lbs for an F350 dually w/ a dump flatbed? Not on the scales that I'm weighed at. I wish they did though. They call them a 1 ton cause that's usually the payload.
Just checked mine and it wieghs 8220#, GVR is 14,000 Its an 05 -f-350 Diesel dualy with a dump bed

Why does it crack you up? It amazes me how few LCO's understand GVW, max tow capacity, payload etc. Posts like these help people avoid big tickets.
If the truck is a flatdeck I wouldn't carry more than 6000lbs if its a truck with a mason dump or dumping flatdeck no more than 5000lbs. The legal load is what ever your truck weighs empty subtract the gvw on the door.
I don't know what you guys carry on your 1 ton trucks to make them have a tare weight of 9000lbs even a F-550 with a 12' flatdeck only weighs 9000lbs.
My F-Superduty trucks (weighed 8000lbs) my current F-Superduty weighs 8300lbs the gvw is 15,000lbs gives me a legal payload of 6700lbs the truck will carry 8000lbs.
The brakes on regular 1 tons is the big problem I have had 1 tons before the stopping power was never that good. I used to carry 6000lbs all the time but had to watch going down hills. The Isuzu/GMC cab overs are okay but they are so damn gutless you pretty much have to get out and push.
The older Chevys were good old 1 tons up till they changed body styles I assume it was around 86. Dodge was the worst for payload capacity a Dodge was a 1 ton put anymore than that it was loaded.
