Did a job today and the customer had landscape fabric covered with gravel around the base of her fruit trees. One apple, one plum. Can you tell me if there is anything bad about this. Is this even worse then having grass growing to the base of the tree?

The fruit trees were in an area of her property where she didnt want grass lawn so thats what she did.

This isn't bad for the trees. It will probably be the worst for your mower if you pick up a rock or 2 or when your trimming and it flings a rock into your shin.
