can I get some ideas on a fair price for a 2005 Tiger Cub with 29 hours 48/19 Kaw engine. Guy is asking $5500...seems a little hi. What should I offer?

You should be able to by that machine new for around 5500 dollars. I would offer him 4900.00. If it only has 29 hrs on it then he must need to get rid of it pretty quick.

    Help!!!

another newby question...I've also found a Ferris 1500Z demo unit with 40hrs for $5300 final price.

    so I have:

2005 SCAG Tiger cub with 29hrs 48/19Kaw no warranty $5000
    vs.
    2007 Ferris 1500Z 40hrs 48/21 Kaw with warranty $5300

I think I know what I should do...but I really like the Scag. For residential use wouldn't the Scag be past it's burn-in period where chances of failure in the next 2 years is very low anyway?

I assume from a resale standpoint a Ferris being two years newer would be better for resale/trade later? Or is that a bad assumption

A Scag tiger cub 48/19ka sells new for around $6995, price may vary from dealer to dealer a little. In my personal opinion the scag is 3 times the machine the ferris is as well as having a much higher resell value. JMHO!

I know I'm late replying but for once I feel like I got a great deal when I bought my 48/19 Kaw. Scag T/C FOR $5300 brand new in the spring of 2006 .It was a floor model they had left over from 05' .
