I am new to this site but I have a question for you guys on pricing this sod job so i dont get screwed. It is in a back yard and it is inbordered in chain link fence. The total square footage of sod to be laid is aprox 2490 square foot. Little grass is there now because of dogs. I was thinking just of tilling it up, rakeing it out and laying the sod. I can buy the sod for .175 per sq ft. I will do the hauling $45.00. I am pretty sure i can have it all tilled and ready to lay in 2 hrs. What do you guys think I should quote this lady? I havnt layed enough sod to feel good about bidding.

here in Kentucky we lay sod by the yard !18 inches by 6 foot roll.It would take 277 yards to do that area . With prep work , deliver charges , material an labor , that job would cost $ 1,300 have fun an get to soddin! see ya george

$1300-$1500... you really can't compare prices around the nation... I am sure somebody on here will say he wouldn't touch it for less than $3500. I am thinking 10 man hours from start to finish minus delivery... if conditions are average.
