I am new to this site & secrched this & found no compatble results. I have a FB 460 Kawasiki on a John deere walk behind that has died. I tore in to it & found that the Intake valve seat was cracked & the guide is loose or moves when the valve opens & closes. which is why I have only 50 PSI. of compresion. I was told that this is not repairable? Any Info that any of you can give me would be Apreciated. If this is not reparable then I will have to decide what to do next get a new or used motor or a new or used mower. Thanks in Advance for the advice.

You were told correctly, It's non-repairable.

Time to start looking for a replacement.

Is there any thing that caused this to happen? Or is there something that can be done to stop this from happing? Or is it nature of the beast ? Thanks

Most likely from old age (high hours) possibly being over heated (grass build-up around cooling fins). This is really not a common occurrence, The best thing to do is keep up on maintenance and keep the cooling fins clear of grass debris.
