I have the oportunity to buy an older 36"Ferris WB with the speed control lever in front of the grips. I think it is 6yrs old. The mower is in good shape and has a new gear box. It is at a very reputable dealer and he wants $1000 for it. Is there any issues with the ferris mowers from this time period and is this a fair price. It has a kawasaki motor, don't remember the size. Let me know what you think. Thanks.

First question is, is the mower hydro or gear? I have 2 hydro 36 & 48 and love em both. Rarely any problems, maybe a belt, tire or pulley. Check with a different dealer and see what they think the mower is worth. Ferrisindustries.com They have a dealer locator on their site.

If its hydro, sounds like it mite be ok price. If gear drive, not so good at 6 years
