I have an interest in a 36" ferris "ultrabelt" 2002 model with under 100 hours. The guy wants $1800. Is he crazy or am I missing something. I contacted my local dealer, they are $2400 brand new this year. Is this mower worth the $1800. If not what should be the highest I should offer him?
Oh, and it only has a 12.5 hp kaw. engine

If the mower is in excellent condition, I might pay that much for it. Otherwise, offer him $1600 cash and that should do the trick.

Are these mowers reliable, do they stripe well? Is 12.5 hp enough? And is it enough to add a sulkey?

Try a search on the key word *Ferris* .. you will find lots of past discussions that might help...

I dont know about the quality of ferris as I have never owned one. I do know though that 12.5 hp is plenty for a 36inch belt drive. I have one on my 36 gravely and I can just about bush hog with it. No power problems there!
