i'm looking at a ferris single drive hydro walk behind 48"
mower and would like to find out if this mower is
worth the money at 2799.00 with a 13hp. kawasaki

13hp seems underpowered, especially for a hydro. i've got a 14hp/50" belt drive machine which is OK in normal growth, but if its long... forget about it.

I thought the 48" ferris was a dual drive.

If you have a Great Dane dealer in your area check out their DUAL hydro walk behind for about the same money!

Great machines...I now own 2 of them

Worth the money? Yes, for what is is worth.

Enough power? No way, need a minimum of 15, preferably 17.

I use to have that same mower. It is very easy to use but is way under powered if you try to mulch with it. It has no baffles under the deck so if you side discharge it does not chop up the clippings very fine.
