fertlizer and tuff builder applications

    when is the best time to put out fertilizer & tuff builder,,,,, fall winter spring or now,, i ASKED SEVERAL DIFFERENT PEOPLE ABOUT THIS ONE,,, AND WHAT SETTING ON A ROTARY TYPE SPREADER YOUR HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED,,,

    That all depends in your area. Here in Cincinnati we have already past the time to put the first step down. Three days of near 80 degree weather or before the forsythia bloom. This is for crab grass control. You can start at any time. Just do not apply less than 6 weeks apart. If you use weed and feed, apply when the grass is wet. It needs to stick to the weeds. It does not prevent weeds just kills what's there.

    As far a the spreader setting goes it's going to depend on what brand spreader you have. Each brand is different. And the brand of fertilizer is also going to make a difference. Fertilizer is sold by the 5,000 sq ft bag, Not by the pound. So each brand will have a different apply rate. Just follow what is recommended on the bag.
