Are you thinking of "brown patch"? That's the name.

Go to Lesco - use Bayleton - it is mucho expensive but works systemically - bye - bye brown patch! On irrigated lawns, water at sunrise - brown patch fungus loves dark, wet, hot and humid conditions - in other words it loves the South when there is no sunshine!

Most often grass turning brown comes from dehydration.
