I installed a pro-C controller about 6-7 years ago. Never any issues other than a major field wiring / piping compromise a few years back, fixed the damage and made sure the valves were cleaned (vacuumed) so as to limit the possibility of rocks.

Well, the client maintains her system so I only hear from her when there's a problem. Took a call Thursday that her controller is changing run times on its own. She told me that the other day that one zone runtime was 15hr39min.

Now I'm not the controller guru that most of you guys are, not my forte. I can't think of any controller with a runtime capable of over 12 hrs and I know the pro-C is half of that.

I'm going to look at the controller next week and figured you guys might have a tip or two about face pack service or testing.

I want to know what's going on so naturally I will test the field ohms/amps/voltage. Check her programs to make sure they're not multiples. Time is 12 and not 24 time.
Do a reset. Power off/ battery out.

    Anything I missed?

I had a controller do that once. Not sure on the cause, but my supplier told me the best solution was to replace the controller. Gremlins.

Those pro c face plates are always doing weird stuff. I frequently swap out the panel, they can be bought separate from the chassis for about $50

I have a brand spanking new 6 station controller in the box. I bet the face pack is the same for all pro-C clocks.

ive seen new pro c-s doing some weird things.

my question is if you press the +/- does it go back to the normal cycle time?

Check for DNA fingerprints; sounds to me someone has had their hamhands on the clock.

  8. I use pro c all the time.

Sounds like a brown out situation or moisture got in there and fried the face plate....common problem.

ewing jdl and horizon all carry the face plates. I think central rain is closer to you and they have it also...at least in Stockton they do.

The nearest horizon or JDL is a five hour turnaround for me john. But thanks. Ewing and Normac are the closest, about a hundred mile turnaround for me.

I don't do much in the line of service or installs. Locating, troubleshooting and leak detection are my standard gigs but I do quite a few other odds and ends to get by. :) thanks :waving:
