Krafty, did you try a KW with the PX6 before you got your truck?

Yes we drove several of the truck with both motors and diff trans combos. We settled with the 8.9 paccar and the allsion 3500rds, I believe they now call it the px9. Some people will say I am crazy but I just can't wrap my head around putting that smaller px6 in a truck this size.

I agree with you but am seeing a lot of KW and Petes with the px6 but my Kodiak with the Cat 3116 is only 6.6 and it has monster power? I wonder if gearing is really important with the px6? What difference is the Allison 3500 vs the 2500? The new KW's sure are sweet looking.

Krafty's? I think it is. The Kodiak is 33 large as well.

Yes the truck is 33k. The 2500 Allison goes with the px6 and the 3500 with the px8/9s. There are some gearing differences in each trans, but the main difference is the max torque input. The 3500 is rated for a higher torque motor. I have an fl70 hook truck as well that has the cat 3126 in it. It has been a good truck as well, we just wanted a truck with a little more giddy up for the new one. There are tons of people that run that px6, there is a local company that runs them in there tandem dumps. From what I hear they have had there fair share of issues with them though mainly because of how hard they are being run.

Wow, in a tandem, that doesen't seem smart too me?

I'm more thinking the px6 in a 26,000 gvw size truck.

Had a 20 yarder go out to a fellow lawn site member today STLTurfmanagement. Thanks for the business Evan, sounds like a pretty nice job you have there. There certainly a lot of work going on in that area.
