flagstone "outcroppings"

    i want to put in a small flagstone wall. the kind where it raises up on one side and then levels out and slopes back down on the opposite side. Kind of like an outcropping in the landscape. when stacking the flagstone is it necessary to put paver base "crushed lime" in between each course of flagstone. or just stack the flagstone right on top of each other.

    The crushed Limestone Base is only needed under the first course, to keep your wall true use shims to re level and for alignment.

    that is what i thought i just read something and i thought it was saying something different. thanks though
