Long story short. Had to replace the fan on top of a Kawasaki FH601v engine. The bolt that ataches the fan to the flywheel was cross threaded (had it at the dealer a while back to replace top oil seal) Now I cannot get the bolt to thread back in.
Is there any possibility to retread the hole or am I going to have to get a new flywheel.

The cap screw does not thread into the flywheel, it threads into the tapered crankshaft upon which the flywheel rests. Why not take the unit back to the dealer who screwed the pooch, if indeed they were the ones who cross threaded it. They should have the proper tap to clean things up--depending on the damage done. It may be possible that the crankshaft will have to be Helicoiled for a satisfactory job.
