Seeing as how it is asked all the time in this and the landscaping forum, could a "sticky" be placed at the top of this forum explaining how to determine how much mulch is needed?

I'd be glad to provide the formula:
Total square feet x depth desired (in feet) / 27 = cubic yards needed

The question is asked quite frequently, and has at times led to some minor flame wars. Posting a "sticky" would alleviate this problem, as well as save some bandwidth space.

    Just a suggestion.

    Dan,

If I'm installing 3" of mulch, how do I convert that to feet???

    :p :p :p

This post of your's makes me LOL! I just provided another smart a$$ post to one of your other "determining mulch" posts, then I see this.....

    Thanks!

I have to be honest here....................
If people need to ask that question maybe they should rethink business.
It doesn't get any simpler than the math involved in figuring mulch quantities.
How do they figure profit and loss?????????

Good idea, maybe a new sub-section should be set up specifically for formulas and pricing
