    the deck lift lever.

when i need to lift the deck up, i find that about 50% of the time i forgot to put it back to the middle position.

do you leave it in the down position, or in the middle?

is it bad for it to leave it in the down position?

It should pop back to the middle position.

If you DO leave it in the down position, I believe it's like "float" on a snowplow, it just releases the solenoid and doesn't have pressure.

It doesnt matter. Even in the up position the deck will gradually lower. I just leave the lever in the down position. Most of the time after mowing for a while the lever will go back to the middle position by its self.

On the new one I just got this week, it would lock in the "up" position, and I could hear the pump keep running, so I knew that wasn't good.
