Does ford offer a heavy half ton on the f-150. I was told the difference was one is a 6 bolt and the heavy is a 7 bolt hub. Cant really find anything about it

It is true, you can customize one on ford's vehicle builder on their website. It is available with extended and reg cab and xl and xlt trim packages. It is called the Heavy Duty Payload Package.

It basically increases the gvwr to 8500 and adds an extra lug to the wheels, along with a couple other mods to the frame and cooling system.

Buy a 3/4 ton if you need something heavier than a F150, Ford used to build a light duty F-250 out of the F-150 body and frame it had 7 lug wheels.

A beefed up half ton is not the way to go they still use a semi floating rear axle in the back.

If you want to carry some weight you need a heavier rear axle something that has 4 wheel bearings supporting the weight not two wheel bearings.
