Ford 6.9 Diesel

    Can anyone tell me if this was a GOOD engine? Also could it be replaced with the new 7.3 PSD after it takes a dump? Thanks for your input.

    The 6.9 is an excellent diesel motor. Good power, mileage and service for a motor of that age.

    When it dies??? That should not happen for a long time with a diesel motor if it is maintained.

    Anything can be done. I think it would be hard though because the 7.3 has a lot more elctronic controls then the old 6.9. IF you wanted to though I am sure it could be done. There is a chat room on Ford diesels that someone may have the address to. Ask Snow over on plowsite.com he may have it.
