I see a '99 ford f350 crew cab dually locally for sale near me.It has the 7.3l, 214k miles, 4x4, cloth interior. says new injectors last year, new trans within past year. I guess my question is, is $12k too much for this truck or what's the best he may do with price coming from a dealer.

An 11 yr old truck with over 200K miles on it for that much?!! Uh yeah, he will never get that amount. I would start around $6000, and no more than $7 or $8K. He is nuts to be asking that much for that old of a truck with that many miles! I wonder what the blue book values it at?

That is still a bit high for an 11 yr old truck in my opinion.

talking about price wise, I have saw a '99 f350 crew, leather, dually, 2wd with 340k miles for $7500. So price should be about right for a dealership, but was just wondering from any guys that owned these 7.3l yrs

I wouldn't buy that truck from a dealer. Your not getting anything for it from the dealer? You can get financing on your own if you need to. Try State Farm they're pretty reasonable for financing vehicles. Also, 214k is a lot because those engines only go for 250-500k so its a crap shoot if your going to be spending 5k+ on top to replace the engine in the near future.

I guess by being diesel, they always push value up more than gas.

Who ever buys that truck for that price would be walking like they rode a horse for 10 hours.

A truck with 343,000 kilometers yes I converted the 214,000 miles the truck would never sell the guy would be lucky to get 4000 dollars for it.

The dealer will find some sucker to buy it for that price and they will end up replacing the engine in a year. Yes there is some powerstrokes out there with 400,000kms 249,000 miles but they have been well maintained.

Tell the dealer 5 grand take it or leave it that is all the truck is worth.

Trucks down here tend to hold their value a little better than up in your area. Still 10k is high 6-8 is about right 10 if it is really really really really clean and drives 100% 12k is unrealistic. I would plan on getting an engine between 250-300k miles

Yeah, that number is about right for that truck. I think if he saw cash in hand, he would take $5K in a heartbeat! Then you will have some money to fix whatever happens with the engine.
