I found a nice 32k mile single rear axle ex state truck with airbrakes and no ac.
I can buy it for 5000 bucks.
It has all of the air brake controllers for the trailer and a nice pintle hitch.
    30k GVWR.
Not Ideal but I think I will buy it.It has not a drop of oil anywhere.
The engine is the 7.8l Ford. Not much HP but for the price I think I can resale later and make money.
It will pass a dot inspection as it sits as well.

The truck probably has a heavier gvw than 30,000lbs.

The truck would make a good trailer toter. What does it have for a transmission ?

I think it said 30k on the door jamb .
It was a 5 speed with a 2 speed rear.
Not Ideal but the truck is really clean.
I really need a truck around the house as well too help maintain the Lake and move dirt around.
I will also be able too get my CDL as well so later I can get a real truck.LOL
The truck has not a spot of oil anywhere underneath. The guy who owns it now bought it from the state too resale. He is a local grader and a pretty honest guy.
It has the 6 digit speedo so the the 32k miles seems legit.
I can get me a 10 ton Tag trailer and be in good shape.
I will give it a better look today or tomorrow so we shall see.

I can buy a nice Tandem axle for around 40k but all of the nicer cheap tandems (around $15k) have low hp engines. Most are in the 230 hp range.

That seems like a very decent deal. 30K GVW is decent with 33K being max. on a single your about there. The truck in trucker miles is actually new. 5K? I would buy it also.

The F-800s were usually a heavier truck with a 23,000lb rear and a 10,000lb front. Atleast its on air the hydraulic lucas girling brakes are a nightmare.

For that price why not buy it.

    I drove it today.
It runs real strong and is pretty tight.
It has a shake in it at 45mph but goes away after that.
It seems too be in the tires more than the drivetrain.
It has excellent brakes and the rear shoes look new.
Now if I can just get it OKed by the misses.LOL
