the 7.3's had a Cam Sensor recall...(in our 99 F350 and 03 F550)...i don't know if this is the problem but it could be...our 350 would shut off WHILE DRIVING!! sometimes, but would always start right back up when you pulled to the side of the road, put it in park and turned the key

i agree with dirtdigger cam sensors very common with powerstrokes. unfortunately your best bet is to plug a scan tool into the cumputer. even if it doesnt throw a light it will store a fault.this will also allow you to see fuel pressure.in the case of a possible injector pump problem.

otc scan tool , we have 25 trucks in our fleet. you should be able to bring it to a garage and have them plug it in for you dont know what they'll whack you for that.

When it cools down does it start immediately, or take a little crankin' ?
