What are you guys getting for gas mileage? My dads company uses these trucks and the seem to do very well on towing draft trailers and seems to push the boss vee plows very well. Anybody out there using an 05 or 06 v10 let me know how it works for you? Thanks mike

My father has an 03 v10. As far as mileage, its not to bad around town or plowing. But when he's towing a load, you can litterly see the guage needle fall.

About 10 MPG when towing a 8 x 20 enclosed trailer full of mowing equipment.

    I have a 99 F-250 super cab 2wd with the V-10 almost 100K miles.

Not a single problem with the drivetrain and I run it hard.

Dam thats pretty good milage, I have a 2005- 6 liter diesel F-350 and it only gets 10.2 mpg while empty. And thats was the dealers figuring it out with his diagnostic computer plugged in on a 20 mile loop.
    Anyone else ??????

Something has to be seriously wrong with your 6.0 if you're only getting 10 MPG. My F450 7.3 with a fuel tank of fuel and my 100 gallon transfer tank full I was getting about 10-11 around town and that truck weighs around 11K.

I know the milage sucks all my old 7.3 got better milage, nothing great but they would do 12-13 mpg around town and 16 on the highway. I'm just want to know what more people are getting with the V-10.

I knew 2 guys with V10's, the older ones, maybe '02s, they said they got 12MPG empty in town on a good day. Loaded I've been told they're real pigs. I got a buddy who just bought an "06 F350 with the V10, I should find out what kind of mileage he gets.

I hear you on the 7.3 mileage, it's not great, but not bad. My old man gets 15 on the highway with his 7.3 SRW F350 and it's full of tools all the time. When we first bought it, just an empty truck, we were getting about 17 MPG highway. Not great, but we can live with that. My F450 made me cringe, but I really only filled it up every 10 days at the most anyway, so the bad mileage really didn't matter. Plus, with a truck like that, who cares? It was such a workhorse it didn't matter.

    '01 F350, 4x4, 3.73s, w/AT = 12.5 empty; 10 towing 7000# enclosed trailer. My old truck ('91 F250, 2wd, 7.3 dsl, 3.73, AT) got 14-15 towing or not.

my uncle had a 2000 model v10 crew cab short bed 2wd. he got 11 in town 7-8 towing about 10000 pounds, and 5 towing 18+, i had an 04 6.0, and that thing got great fuel mileage! 18-20 on highway and 16-18 in town, consistantly 15 towing my 4000 pound lawn trailer. the dealer told me a secret about those 6.0's, the more you dog on em the better they are, so i tried it, and it stoped going to the shop as much! but i hear from some friends at the dealer the newer v 10's are gettin better fuel mileage than before, and they are hosses!! i drove an 05 4x4 pulled a gooseneck with bobcat and was blown away by the power!

I get around 12mpg with my 95 F-450 PSD 5spd it weighs pretty well 8500lbs the way it sits empty. The PSD gets better mpg over my old F-450 that was IDI power and weighed slightly less.

With our regular gas pushing 1.20 per litre or 4.44 CND for a US gallon or 4.00 American for a US gallon of regular gas. A truck that only gets 10mpg is pretty expensive to operate at those prices.

I know a few V-10s that only go 300kms (186 miles) on a rear tank of fuel I assume the tank is 40 gallons.
