Have either of you read usl franchise prospectus? I have and I know what their average franchisee gross and net. Trust me their model works. Our company has been trying to buy out the local franchisee for 2yrs. I am not here to toot their horn but to offer the information we have gathered from discussion's with usl home office and franchisee.

As for GG they are not in the lawn service or maintenance business, they only sell franchises.

I am not sure if should divulge the exact information that was provided me in confidence. I can tell you they operate on 25-40% margins but i feel those cam be increased with lighter payroll. I have seen them run crews of 4 where 2 would be plenty
All the ones I talked with were grossing $750k-1.5mil.
Keep in mind they do commercial maintenance mainly, no installs.

You know what lighter payroll does to production and quality? 40% is a nice margin for a company in that bracket.

Well I mean you don't need 4guys to service a half acre bank. My guys average 30 minutes on a location like that. So if I split them into 2 crews I am doubling my hourly revenue and nobody get worked to death.

As for GG they are not in the lawn service or maintenance business, they only sell franchises. Yes I've read both companies disclosures!

Not sure where you got your info from about GG's but you are mistaken! Just like USL they are primarily in commercial maint!

I don't think you understand what I am saying. GG nor USL own one single mower or weedeater, they are an office that sells franchises only. They are not in the grass cutting business.

Gotcha LOL, either way I'm sure their both good companies I just think some people don't truly understand the franchising concept, IMOP there are more opportunities to get larger faster with one than without one. Most all the larger companies I've spoken with around here took years and years to build and was done with a LOT of trial and error and lost revenue in the process.

Then are they selling franchises to make pizza, doughnuts, or hamburgers?

You would have to know the business in order to sell the business, IE: USL was a lawn company at one time that decided to expand using the franchise model just like Micky dees and any other franchise they all started with one location and expanded by duplicating and selling their systems over and over.
