I just installed it and it looks like it might work for a smaller LCO. You can read about it here: www.ideawins.com

Yeah I am trying out. For a microsoft product it seems to work okay. Waiting for bugs to come out, and security flaws to be discovered.

Runs a bit on the slow side. When you go to install the accounting software, it requires MS SQL Server and .NET 2.0 framework. Be prepared to have a long d/l time on a dial up connection.

I read somewhere that running the accounting software eats up something like 150 MB of RAM. Although that may not be the correct number, I can attest that my P4 1.3GHz 512 MB RAM does run slower when loading up MS Accounting.

The accounting package works in conjunction with MS Office. It sends your invoices to MS Word (as an option) and also integrates Outlook for emailing your invoices.

Since it's "free," I'm really not going to complain too much. I would have just liked to see MS put out a solid product. The SQL server & .NET 2.0 dependencies are a real bummer.

    Just my .02

I think the 120 day thing is how long you can use it before registering. I just went ahead and registered when I installed the software.

I bought the full version last year for 300.00:-/. I downloaded the free version it's pretty much exactly the same minus some advanced reporting that nobody uses:)

Wow sorry to hear that, $300 is a lot of money. I was curious how you like it. I've only been using it for a little while at the end of my season.

    Thanks,
    Miguel
