With the little free time I have, I code open source software, specifically web applications (like this forum). Due to this interest, I have collected 100's of useful applications (mostly free) over the years, primarily for Windows and Linux.

So I'll start a windows section for image editing and management. If anyone has anything to add, please do. The only requirement is it be free.

    Image Management & Editing

Probably the best quick edit/viewer: http://www.irfanview.com/

    The Open Source Photoshop: http://www.gimp.org/

Another Open Source Photoshop like editor: http://www.getpaint.net/

XP Style Viewer with minor editing ability: http://www.faststone.org/

Google's version of image management and editing: http://picasa.google.com/
  2. I use google picasa with my family. Does it have the ability to do jpg compression and post the pics on lawnsite? I got the impression you could only send people to the site to look at your pics not edit and repost somewhere else.

Don't know, however I imagine it has at least a full complement of your core image manipulation filters.

Personally. the only thing I will ever use from Google is their search engine. I posted the link because it is free and has gotten some good reviews.

BTW, you don't need to actually post the images to this site, they only need to be online, doesn't matter where it is stored.
