Today, my now-not-so-trusty Husqvara 353 chainsaw seized. Even though I bought it used, I have been meticulous with the maintenance. After cutting a dead dogwood down, it instantly seized with no warning. I was running freshly mixed gas with synthetic Stihl oil. I have no idea what happened other than the previous owner ran it hot and I was on borrowed time. Any ideas?

You sure it's not the chain got caught up some kind of way?

If it's really seized there's not a whole lot you can do, but I'd check it over every which way first.
Try unhooking the chain and pulling the spark plug, then see if it will turn over but if it does
and you put it back together ... When you start it I would let it idle for a good gas tank's worth,
then slowly increase the throttle and watch it because seized engines can get to running again
however they'll fly apart some kind of way, so...
