I would love to get some feedback from those of you out there running a 36 hp Briggs Vanguard...how many gallons of gas does it burn per hour. I am considering the 36 hp but would like to know if it is going to kill me in fuel costs. I currently have the 32 hp which burns around 1.8-2.0 gallons per hour.

That is the mower I am considering...do you like it so far? I have been looking for a good dealer that is close. We are basically neighbors, where did you get yours and what did it cost if you don't mind me asking.

My 32 Briggs vanguard on a ferris 3100 now gets 1.2 per hour. It has 1300 hrs.

My Briggs 35 has about 75 hours on it and seems to be around 1.8 - 2.0gph.

I was talking with a Scag service guy the other day and mentioned how pleased I was with the 29 EFI Kohler and the Briggs 35. He called the Briggs 35 a pig and said I would regret buying it. I told him that I had read where people had claimed that the fuel consumption on their 35's had improved once the engine broke in. This guy cracked up laughing and said, "well, they must have bought the magical Briggs 35 from happy fantasy land because it doesn't exist in this world".

Either way, I love my 35 and I'd buy it again.
