I have read several of the post about determining your operating cost. My question is how do you figure up your fuel per gal in your ztr. Is there a formula that you can use. I have a Scag Turf Tiger w/a 52" 23hp Kaw. Does anyone know what the average fuel cost for this machine is?

Scag gives2.2 gallons per hour for most of the carburated models (ZTR).

First fill your tank to the top and run the mower taking note of the hours. After running through most of the tank of fuel fill it back up and see how much fuel it takes to fill it to the same level and record the hours and fuel usage.

Gallons of fuel divided by hours = Gallons Per Hour (GPH)

such as: 8 gallons divided by 4 hours = 2 gallons per hour
