Anyone else feeling the fuel crunch?

    Single axle filled 55 gal @ $4.10 = $225.50
    Bobcat Filled 20 gal @ $4.10 =$82.00
    Dodge ram Filled 25 gal @ 3.10 = $77.50

Spending $384.00 before I go to work in the morning is really starting to hurt.

    Anyone Fuel Surcharging?FUEL COSTS

Yes we have been for a long time now. There are lots of ways to do it, but if it's not in your contracts which you have already signed then you're beat. You can either change your contracts to include them in the future or you can take it into account in your pricing. My feeling on surcharges is that they are more for recurring services such as lawn maint or plowing. I guess if you plan to be on a job long enough that fuel costs are uncertain(which seems to be a day to day thing these days) you could still use them, but if you're in and out in a week or two I don't see it being worth it, just add costs into your bid.

Don't forget to talk to your accountants about off-road fuel tax credits.

Maybe not all states have this. Certainly helps here on the "Gold Coast".
