I want to put a 275 oil tank on site for gas storage. Will the vent system that is designed for fuel oil properly work for gas?

Probably not, also the tank is likely either the wrong color or in the wrong location
for gasoline storage, oil can be stored in tanks red or black and sitting out in the
worst of the sun as it affects it little, but gasoline doesn't react well with heat.

Even if it did vent properly I would not want gasoline sitting in a tank out in the sun,
much less a red, brown or black colored one (always did wonder why lawn mower tanks were
    colored dark).

That having been said, personally I'd ask the oil and petrol folks about this one.
