Fuel surcharge

    I am charging a $ 2.00 fuel surcharge per cut to all my customers this year. Fuel prices are going to get higher. last year i charged $1.00 per cut. Do you guys think going to $ 2.00 is to high ?

    Depends on how many gallons it takes to cut a lawn. A $2.00 surcharge would cover a gallon of gas, at current prices. Why not just increase the price? Do you burn a gallon on each lawn? A surcharge, if used, should only be for the increase in fuel costs. Do you anticipate a $2 increase in fuel costs per lawn?

    Raise your prices 3% to 5% per year!Other things cost more too.Insurance is a prime
    example.If people work for you they will want a raise or they can work for me!I can
    provide health ins,workers comp,retirement,and unemployment.Do you?
