This is a question for my neighbor, He is looking to get a new small to mid-size tractor and he is looking at the kubota. The dealer told him that he could mow 3 times as much with the diesel engine(2 cyl.) than he could with the gas engine. I find this hard to believe myself but ya never know. So what are your opinion's on this?? I am not sure of what model, but he said it was going to be 4wd and I think 18 to 22 HP. Any info would be appreciated.

We have a diesel 72" John Deere. The thing is huge, and is incredibly fuel-efficient.

I would not doubt the claims of the dealer especially with a smaller mid-mount machine. We have a gas kubota 52" mid-mount and it is reasonable on fuel to begin with. Personally, wish we would've bought the diesel. No downside except the fumes in tight spaces. :help:

    Hope that helps.
