Fun Bid For You

    Today, i submitted a bid for the following comm prop:

    223181 sq ft of lawn
    13257 ln ft of edge/trimming
    7814 ln ft of blowing

    3360 sq ft of mulch beds
    2271 ln ft of bed edging

    what would you charge per:
    -mow with mow, trim, blow and bed maintenance
    -aeration
    -overseed
    -mulch(3-4 inch) including edging
    -fertilizer

    After a few bids, I will let you all know what my bid came in at.

    I saw you are at UMO do you know a David Creager or Emily Louis. David Creager used to work in Lawn Care. He is student now and I don't know what he does.

    This is just a no see estimate.

    1.lawn mainentance-$585 per cut

    2.aeration-$2230.

    3. overseeding- I dont do overseeding down here, so i cant price it.

    4. $1870 for mulch and install, price for bed edging not included. Never priced that much edging (do not have a formula for it yet).

    heres what i submitted- Do you think it is close?

    Weekly lawn maint- $360 per cut
    Weeky bed maint- $16 per
    Aeration- $2700
    Mulching and edging- $2725
    Fert- $780 per app

    by the way, this is a large upscale appt complex.

    Jason,

    I'd go higher on the mow, edge and blow part, but that's what my market will bear. Everything else looks good. Hope you get it.

    Mow trim blow 669.00 per cut
    Bed maint. 30.00 per month per bed
    Aeration 1,673.00 (leave cores) with clean up add 900.00
    Mulching with out edging 2230.00

    Mow - $625
    Aerate - $3345
    Overseed - $3345 (5#perK)
    Mulch - $2850 (aprox 3 1/2")
    Edging - $150
    Fert - $892

    KLM- Do you get those kind of prices because your on Long Island? I wish I could get those prices here.

    greenman, I don't think I can honestly answer your question, I do not know what it costs to be in business elsewhere in this country. I know that many of those who are in the same profession as I am are just short if not knee deep in giving their services away for ridiculously cheap prices. I do not negotiate unless it is with a long time customer who is in good standing in regard to price. If they want a quality job, by someone who has almost 20 years experience, is licensed and insured, is a certified pesticide applicator with knowledge of lawn, shrub, tree diseases, wants reliable service, the ability to offer suggestions to problems and concerns and has the ability to follow thru and get the job done, right, the first time, then they have to pay for all of that and more.....
