    pvc glue?

  3. Sheetrockers dumped their buckets on a head. I know I've seen it many times in my career. Very common in newer areas.

Every head or just a few?

Looks like my showerhead before I put in a water softener. Haven't noticed it in my system, but it's only been in for 3 years.

Looks like it came from the outside rather than the inside. I've found hard water gunk in some heads, but not on the outside of the nozzle...if internal, then maybe teflon paste?

I think Fimco-Meister has the right idea though... if not, then maybe something similar, like latex paint that had a chance to dry....

Ask if they had any paint or remodel work done recently?
