What is the maximum gpm you would want to push through funny pipe? I have never used this product but am considering it. I may be using an 8 gpm nozzle.

Max flow thru swing (funny) pipe is 8gm, your pressure loss per 10' is around
    6 psi.

8 gpm is a bit much, unless you can afford to lose at least 5 psi between the head and the lateral. The largest loss would be in the 3/4 MPT x Barb elbow(s) at around 4 psi with a 8 gpm flow.

I had always figured around 8psi loss per swing joint w/2 barbed ells @
Marlex...just to be on the safe side, that's with 1' of swing pipe @ 8gpm.

I usually avoid swing pipe with the largest nozzles, if I want the best possible radius. Last time I installed a Hunter #11 PGP on my own design, was on 3/4 poly terminating with a insert x MPT elbow, and a Marlex elbow on that.

Agreed, I got turned on to the Lasco 3/4" & 1" swing joints when I was with
the school district & have used them as I was getting up around 6 gpm, no friction
loss & easier to raise/lower than swing pipe. They are a "O" ring type.
