Kawasaki FJ180V KAI: Yesterday my mower wouldn't restart after a short break. First thing I checked was the oil and it smelled strong with gas. This morning I dropped it off at the dealer for a (warranty) diagnoses/repair and picked it up this afternoon after being told it's was ready. A few hours later I go out and pull the dipstick and smell gas again. Any idea what would cause this?

Most likely a piece of trash under the float needle valve caused it to hang open, Fuel flooded into the cylinder through the open intake valve then ran past the rings into the crankcase.

If they didn't clean the tank out if/when they cleaned the carb out your fighting a loosing battle. And of course the oil needs changed again.

This type situation wouldn't be covered under the manufacturers warranty either.
