my gas tank has alot of what i think is oxidation on it. it is turning greyish white on both tanks in a big area near the gas cap. should this be happening? i would love to have a black gas tank. is there anything i could get to turn it back black or should this be happening at all?

I think I know what your talking about, have you shown your dealer?
We need to see it, then we can look into it.
You can e-mail me the pics also and I will have our customer service guys take a look at them.

Mothers makes something called back to black. Its great at removing oxidation but you have to put it on every week or two.

I used that stuff from mothers, but when gas is leaked or spilled on the tank, it goes right back to the oxidized color.

spray the gas tanks with a healthy amount of wd-40, then wipe it in with a rag.

I saw some plastic and trim revitalizer at Autozone last week. It's probably a plastic safe clear coat. I bet it would work well.
