Or blew out after 300hrs. Thank God it didn't happen in somebody's yard. I started it up and started backing down the trailer when I heard a loud POP. Saw oil spewing all over the place and quickly drove it back up the ramp. At first I thought a hose had blown but then saw a nice hole in the side of the block.

Has anyone else had an experience like this?

I was thinking about getting another XT3200-72 or SP3200-72 but now am having second thoughts. Now I'm contemplating a 28hp EFI... Is 28hp enough for a 72" machine? How much of a fuel savings would it offer over the 32hp?

My dealer has quoted me $9199 plus $100 filing fee for the either XT or SP3200-72 but it doesn't seem like great deal to me... as a second time Dixie buyer. How does this price stack up to area?

I have a 26hp Flatlander as a loaner and it doesn't stack up too well.

I have a Gen 28 hp, with very close to 500 hours on it, seems to be running great so far. Little hard on gas, I have a 27 kohlor on a 60", great on gas. The cub tank 72" only comes with a generac motor, wish they offered the kohlor on it.

I too am curious about this... A dealer told me that the Generac's are made in china, or at least with parts from china... Does anyone know if this is fact, or fiction? BTW, Tom, Briggs is selling a 31hp Vanguard now... Too bad Kohler doesn't sell the 28 efi over the counter... Only to OEM's.....

I'm more curious on how after the motor blew up and a hole in the block you could still drive it back up the ramp. I mean, once a motor blows out, it usually quits running right that second. Am I missing something?

I dunno hoss.... the mechanic babbled something about the other side (of engine) being able to run for a short time...

Oh... thank God it did (keep running)!

We had a 28hp fuel-injected Kohler on a 72" and from my experience it does not have enough power for the machine. It is a great motor and we also have one on a 60" that does great, smoothest running engine I have ever had. I would tell your dealer to sharpen his pencil a bit, I don't remember exactly what we paid for our XT3200's this spring but I know it was a lot less than that.

Hoss, it could throw one rod and still run for a few seconds or so on the other cylinder.... Nevermind I re read his other post. Mechanic is correct.

With only 300 hours why don't you just get the engine replaced under warranty? Generacs come with a 3 year warranty.

Richard... I am getting the engine replaced. "Getting another" meant in addition to... sorry.
